Reporting to the CEO, QTV’s new Finance Director will assume responsibility for the
organisation’s financial strategy, planning, accounting, reporting, and execution. They will play a key role on the Executive Team in delivering the business plan, and maximising revenue, leveraging business opportunities, and optimising operating costs. They will also provide strategic direction and leadership to their team and be a trusted business partner to the Senior Leadership Team across the company in order to maximise financial performance.

QTV is searching for someone with extensive finance and accounting business experience including corporate accounting, fast-paced organic growth, mergers and acquisitions, financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, tax planning and treasury.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure alignment with the Executive Team on the business strategy and provide guidance on any present and future considerations which have an impact on business operations and future expansion.
  • Lead and grow the finance team, providing excellent people management skills and expertise in dealing and presenting at Executive and Board level.
  • Understand and own the company’s financial strategy, which includes long-term financial planning and forecasting, risk management, and expansion strategies.
  • Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and all aspects of business reporting.
  • Manage treasury function, including cash flow and risk management, and assist with external fundraising and management of covenants where appropriate.
  • Work with all departments to ensure provision of information as and when required and to improve the understanding of performance measures and identify key areas of risk, opportunity & profit maximisation.
  • Manage relationships with key external parties, including those for regulatory compliance where appropriate.
  • Challenge and constructively contribute to the QTV’s decision-making process, ensuring mitigation of any negative exposure.
  • Ensure compliance with UK legislation and QTV’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure structure is applied appropriately as well as create and define new processes where required to ensure efficiency.

 

Knowledge, skills, and experience

  • Significant experience in advancing financial leadership positions, preferably (but not essentially) with experience in the broadcast industry.
  • Intuitive knowledge of financial operations (financial planning and reporting, expense management, accounting, tax compliance, treasury, controllership and payroll).
  • Previous involvement as a key member of a leadership team, demonstrating the ability to contribute effectively to strategic decision-making and organisational direction.
  • Extensive experience in forecasting and expansion strategies for scaling businesses..
  • Exemplary management skills with a demonstrable record of managing teams and the motivation of teams.
  • Skilled in management processes such as business and organisation planning, change management, influencing multi-functional teams, controlling, communication and training.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities coupled with a talent for strategic thinking, enabling the development of innovative solutions to complex financial challenges.
  • Experience operating within a matrix organisation structure, with a demonstrated ability to navigate reporting relationships across both operational and functional leadership realms.
  • Strong analytical skills demonstrating ability to gather, analyse and extract useful data.
  • High level of initiative, creativity, perseverance, and flexibility.
  • Good listening and communication skills across all levels.
  • Proactive and hands-on mentality.
