Job description
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the successful candidate will help to develop, service and maintain all of QTV’s broadcast systems. This individual will lead our outside broadcast operations at QTV and assist with the management and development of the engineering team. Key Responsibilities
● Function as lead engineer for small and large scale projects, including evaluation of all
reasonable options and presenting to senior management
● Design and develop solutions for broadcast facilities to meet QTV’s broadcast
● Minimise loss of service when equipment fails by quickly identifying and implementing
alternative methods of service provision
● Create equipment lists, floor plans, rack and console elevations as well as detailed
diagrams for events
● Ensure proper integration of test systems for broadcast equipment
● Work with the production management team and technical departments to determine
technical needs of a project
● Quickly develop good understanding of capabilities and limitations of technical
● Keep abreast of trends, best practices, evolving technology and innovative solutions in
the industry to advise the senior management team of future needs and resources

Required/Desirable skills
● Technical understanding of the following:

○ Audio Engineering; sound desk configuration, RTS intercoms, Audio over IP
○ Replay Operation and engineering e.g. EVS / Simply Live
○ Vision engineering; Vision mixer configuration and operation, Matrix
management, TSL Tally systems, Sony and Grass Valley camera systems, iris
and colour balance, cable management, video measurement and broadcast
standards comprehension
○ IP broadcast technologies and standards
○ Post production workflows

● Broadcast System design, integration and management
● Experience working in Studio or Outside Broadcast
● Strong troubleshooting skills. Ability to escalate problems where necessary, find quick
work around solutions to minimise impact and ensure clear communication to all
● Experience working in sports/live events maintaining standards in high pressure
● They must have excellent verbal and written English
● A keen interest in client relations with strong interpersonal skills, and feel confident
both on the phone and in person dealing with all stakeholders
● Work effectively with colleagues elsewhere in the company and to have a solid
understanding of all content created by QTV
